November - December 2005
The idea of encouraging poverty stricken women from Manila to participate in some sort of livelihood endeavor grew out of many years of struggles and frustrations. In late 2005, a simple business plan and an operational process for an organization was developed. This small orgnaization was to be organic in nature and was to allow for great flexibility in the area of member growth, meeting place and work place. The process had begun.

January 2006
Woven Joy began in early 2006 with the help of a small $3,000 USD grant, two foreign development workers, creative Filipino women and much research and prayer. The first version of the website was quickly launched in order to get the face and name of the organization out to the public. Orders trickled in through email and word of mouth.

Then, in the summer of 2006 Woven Joy strategically launched the second version of it's website before attending their first ever youth conference as a vendr. This conference was hosted at Biola University in Southern California. Woven Joy discovered there was a market for its handmade product among American teens and adults alike. The youth conference was a great success. Woven Joy continues to attend every year.

2007 - 2009
Woven Joy continues to sell its product online through its website as well as at several conferences and small events. Sales continue to rise each year sparking questions of website upgrades and small operational and process changes.

2010
Woven Joy adds a U.S. based volunteer to help with orders, distribution and customer communication. Some of the operational and process changes are put into affect and the design and development of the thrid version of the website begins.

2011 -
Woven Joy launches a new redesigned website. This is the third version to date. Additional features, design enhancements and an easier ordering process bring in more sales and inquiries. Woven Joy officially starts the process to become an independent non-profit organization.

To be continued . . .
